Amman, May 7 (Petra) -- The Kingdom is experiencing a gradual increase in temperatures this week, with warm to hot weather forecast to persist across most regions through Saturday, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

On Wednesday, temperatures will climb slightly, bringing sunny and warm conditions to much of the country. Relatively hot weather was reported in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with moderate northwesterly winds prevailing.

The weather department expects another rise in temperatures on Thursday. Conditions will be mild in most areas and hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. High-altitude clouds are likely to appear, and winds will shift to moderate southeasterlies.

By Friday, temperatures are forecast to rise further, exceeding seasonal averages by 5 to 7 degrees Celsius. The weather will remain mild in the highlands and plains, while areas such as the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will continue to experience hot conditions. High-altitude clouds will persist, and winds will start as moderate southeasterlies, turning northwesterly and occasionally becoming active by midday.

Saturday’s forecast suggests continued mild weather across most of the kingdom, with hotter conditions expected in the desert areas, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. High-level clouds will remain visible, and winds will shift from southeasterly to northwesterly.

Maximum and minimum temperatures for Wednesday are forecast as follows: 28 C and 18 C in East Amman, 26 C and 16 C in West Amman, 25 C and 13 C in the northern highlands, and 24 C and 12 C in the Sharah highlands.

Desert areas are expected to reach 32 C during the day and drop to 17 C at night, while the plains will see temperatures ranging from 29 C to 18 C. The northern Jordan Valley is forecast at 33 C and 20 C, with the southern valley reaching 36 C and 22 C.

The Dead Sea will experience highs of 35 C and lows of 21 C, and similar conditions are expected in the Gulf of Aqaba, with temperatures ranging between 36 C and 22 C.
