13/ Veterinary Innovations Forum Kicks Off at Jordan University of Science, Technology
Ramtha, May 7 (Petra) -- The first Clinical Student Forum of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Jordan University of Science and Technology commenced Wednesday under the theme "Veterinary Innovations Conference." The event was inaugurated by Vice President Dr. Bashir Khasawneh, on behalf of the university president, in the presence of Dr. Mona Abu Dalo, and drew wide participation from students, faculty members, specialists, and stakeholders in the veterinary sector. The conference aims to highlight student innovations and projects that demonstrate scientific and practical advancements in veterinary medicine, while encouraging students to engage in scientific research and evidence-based clinical practice. In his remarks, Khasawneh described the forum as a milestone in fostering student creativity and innovation, aligning with the university's strategic vision to advance academic excellence and scientific research. He added that such events bridge the gap between education and practice, enhance critical thinking, and promote scientific dialogue. He also commended the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the organizing committees for their efforts, urging continued support for similar initiatives to develop a well-informed and qualified generation. Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Maysar Akash, said the forum reflects the college’s commitment to integrating academic learning with practical experience. She described it as a key milestone in enhancing students’ scientific and research capabilities, with a focus on developing clinical skills and critical thinking. Akash also noted that the forum offers a dynamic platform for presenting student projects and exchanging knowledge. She expressed appreciation for the private sector’s continued support of scientific activities at the university. Dr. Samih Abu Tarboush, Director General of the Veterinary Hospital and Rehabilitation Center at the Jordanian National Center for Police Dogs, shared an overview of complex medical cases successfully diagnosed and treated by the center, underscoring the professionalism of the staff and the advanced level of clinical training provided to students. He affirmed the hospital’s role as a cornerstone in the students' practical education. The program featured a series of scientific sessions and workshops covering the latest developments in veterinary diagnostics and treatment.
