44/ 2025 National Employment Day offers over 12,000 jobs across Kingdom
Governorates, May 6 (Petra) – Labor Directorates across all governorates organized the "2025 National Employment Day" on Tuesday, with the participation of hundreds of companies from the public and private sectors. Thousands of job opportunities in various fields were announced, drawing large crowds of job seekers. In Aqaba, around 40 companies took part in the event, launched by Governor Khaled Hajjaj at Prince Hamzah Youth City. He emphasized the goal of reaching as many job seekers as possible, noting that both government agencies and private companies are providing support, training, and diverse employment opportunities in engineering and hospitality sectors. Aqaba Labor Directorate Head Atef Hamran said companies offered around 500 jobs across multiple sectors, adding that the turnout was high due to the variety of fields represented. In Karak, 25 companies participated in the event, inaugurated by Governor Qablan Sharif, with about 1,200 young men and women attending. Prominent companies included Arab Potash Company, National Poultry Company, and Qatraneh Cement. Ajloun also saw a strong turnout at its employment day, organized by the Labor Directorate and Ajloun University College. Director Shaher Jarrah said 30 companies and civil society organizations were present, aiming to create jobs and reduce unemployment through enhanced public-private collaboration. Dean of Ajloun College Wael Rabadi reaffirmed the Al- Balqa' Applied University's (BAU) support for national initiatives to improve local employment. In Madaba, over 500 job seekers attended the event at the Contractors Association Hall, which featured 23 companies and was opened by Governor Faisal Sumairan. Madaba Labor Director Hayel Zabin stressed the importance of public-private partnerships in reducing unemployment. In Tafileh, the local Labor Directorate organized a fair offering 450 jobs across technical and professional sectors. Governor Omar Zyoud praised the private sector’s role in employment generation. Mafraq hosted one of the largest events, offering 1,650 jobs across various fields, organized in cooperation with the local Engineers Association. Over 52 industrial and service companies took part. Governor Firas Abu Ghanam emphasized the importance of linking job seekers with the private sector, and Acting Secretary-General of the Ministry of Labor Abdullah Jbour said the national campaign covered 16 locations, with more than 600 companies offering over 12,000 jobs. Head of the Mafraq Engineers Association, Majdi Al-Amoush, highlighted ongoing collaboration with Al al-Bayt University and the Mafraq Governorate Council to launch a training program for 100 engineers in IT, languages, and technical skills. Irbid’s employment fair, held at the Officers Club, saw participation from 70 companies offering 1,650 jobs in sectors such as healthcare, education, industry, hospitality, and services. Over 1,500 job seekers attended, Irbid Labor Director Salem Bani Salameh told the Jordan News Agency (Petra). The Social Security Corporation participated in several events to raise awareness of workers' rights and benefits under the national social security system. Teams were present in Amman, Sahab, Balqa, Zarqa, Karak, Jerash, Irbid, Aqaba, and Ma'an, distributing informational brochures and answering questions about pensions, workplace injuries, maternity benefits, unemployment coverage, and more. The Mashare' Vocational Training Institute in Irbid also participated, showcasing a range of training programs aligned with labor market needs.
