27/ TTU, Egyptian university partner to design curricula to meet labor market needs
Tafila, May 6 (Petra) - Tafila Technical University (TTU) and the Egyptian New Cairo Technological University (NCTU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at developing joint academic and research cooperation and exchanging expertise. The agreement was signed by TTU President Dr. Bassam Mahasneh, and NCTU Chairman Dr. Tarek Abdelmalak. Mahasneh said the memo opens "new" horizons for students and faculty members to benefit from mutual expertise and "qualitative" academic opportunities, which marks a "remarkable" step that reflects the two universities' commitment to supporting technical education and enhancing regional cooperation in the higher education field. The memo, he noted, comes within the framework of the move to integrate in applied and technical education and provides several cooperation areas and aims to organize joint scientific conferences and seminars to contribute to address developmental and economic challenges. On its main goal, the memo seek to exchange expertise in designing technical curricula to meet requirements of the regional and international labor market. Meanwhile, Abdelmalak voiced pride in this "constructive" cooperation, noting NCTU seeks to strengthen its international and regional partnerships, particularly with technical universities with a shared vision.
