  25/ Princess Rym Ali Receives Senate Committee 

Amman, May 6 (Petra) – Her Royal Highness Princess Rym Ali, member of the Board of Commissioners of the Royal Film Commission (RFC), met with Senator Haifa Najjar, Chair of the Senate Committee on Culture, Youth, and Sports, and committee members at Olivewood Studios on Tuesday.

According to a press release from the RFC, the meeting featured a detailed briefing by Her Royal Highness Princess Rym on Olivewood Studios, emphasizing its crucial role in supporting the film industry in Jordan, both culturally and economically. RFC Director General Muhannad Bakri and Olivewood Chairman Raja Gargour also attended the meeting.

The delegation toured the studios' state-of-the-art facilities, gaining insights into its technical capabilities that support both local and international film productions.

Princess Rym reviewed the RFC's initiatives, highlighting the positive influence of the film industry in enhancing Jordanian cultural identity and contributing to the economy.

The discussion focused on increasing support for the sector, with an emphasis on the importance of showcasing the Jordanian narrative through cinematic works.
Topics such as technology and intellectual property rights were addressed, along with a brief on the Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film, a key platform for promoting Jordanian and Arab talent in filmmaking.

Princess Rym underscored the significance of incorporating filmmaking into cultural and educational contexts, noting its role in fostering a creative and empowered generation.

Senator Haifa Najjar praised the RFC’s efforts in supporting the tourism, cultural, and economic sectors, calling it a comprehensive creative initiative. She stressed the importance of continued support for the RFC, recognizing its success in promoting Jordanian tourism and developing a competitive film industry on the global stage.

Najjar also highlighted the need to amplify the Jordanian national narrative through film, ensuring its local, regional, and international reach, thereby fostering cultural refinement and building cross-community communication through diverse content.

The dignitaries emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership between the RFC, the private sector, and other stakeholders to establish Jordan as a regional hub for creative content, enabling the RFC to fulfill its role in advancing this vital sector and supporting Jordanian talent.
