19/ Tourism 2025 Conference Recommends Roadmap for Sustainable, Competitive Sector

Amman, May 6 (Petra) – Participants in the "Tourism 2025" conference on Tuesday recommended advancing sustainable, religious, and medical tourism, expanding the use of digital tools for tourism marketing and promotion, and strengthening collaboration with local communities to support sectoral growth.

The recommendations also called for investment in Jordan's cultural heritage, cooperation with international airlines, the development of an integrated national tourism map, and the production of specialized media content to enhance the country’s tourism appeal.

The conference, inaugurated in Amman in the presence of Senator Michel Nazzal, Chairman of the Senate’s Tourism and Heritage Committee, positioned these priorities as strategic pillars aligned with the Economic Modernization Vision’s goals for the tourism sector.

Over the course of several sessions, the conference addressed economic, legal, technical, and cultural dimensions of tourism development. Presentations covered topics such as cultural tourism, traditional fashion, legal frameworks, content creation, digital transformation, and destination branding.

The event brought together a select group of tourism experts and stakeholders. Senator Sharhabil Madi, Rapporteur of the Tourism and Heritage Committee in the Senate, underscored the need for integrated development proposals to stimulate the sector.

Senator Issa Murad described tourism as a key investment driver capable of generating employment and fostering economic growth.

Former Director of the Association of Banks, Adli Qandah, presented a comprehensive vision for sustainable tourism, noting its potential as an economic catalyst and a mechanism for preserving tourism assets.

Nidal Mallou Ain, Chair of the Conference Organizing Committee, announced that the Executive Committee will convene shortly to draft a detailed roadmap for implementing the recommendations. He also revealed plans for organizing an international tourism conference in collaboration with global institutions and companies.

Participants emphasized that these initiatives will reinforce Jordan’s status as a regional tourism hub and improve the global competitiveness of its tourism offerings.
