Amman, May 6 (Petra) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Huneiti, received on Tuesday the Head of the Council of Church Leaders in Jordan, Greek Orthodox Archbishop Christophorus, along with an accompanying delegation.

The meeting focused on promoting the values of religious tolerance and coexistence, and the important role religious institutions play in fostering mutual respect and understanding within Jordanian society.

Huneiti emphasized the significance of the Church’s contributions in reinforcing national unity and social cohesion, praising its ongoing efforts to serve all components of Jordanian society.

Christophorus, in turn, commended the Jordan Armed Forces for their humanitarian and medical missions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, as well as their dedication to safeguarding national security. He highlighted Jordan as a regional and international model of peaceful coexistence and interfaith harmony.
