38/ Jordanian ambassador in Cairo welcomes Jordan Riders motorcycle team

Cairo, May 4 (Petra) – Jordan’s ambassador to Egypt, Amjad Adaileh, met on Sunday with members of the "Jordan Riders" motorcycle team, who are currently visiting Egypt as part of an overland tour that began in Amman last Wednesday.

The team’s visit to Cairo is part of a joint program with the Egyptian Automobile and Touring Club, held under the slogan "Hearts are Jordanian, Hugs are Egyptian." The initiative aims to promote cultural exchange and tourism between the two countries through motorcycle sports.

The riders departed from Amman, passed through Aqaba, then crossed by ferry to Egypt’s Nuweiba Port. From there, they traveled overland to the coastal city of Dahab and continued through various governorates and towns until reaching Cairo.

Throughout the journey, the team carried the Jordanian flag on their motorcycles and wore uniforms in the national colors. Their tour is set to continue to Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh before returning by sea to Aqaba and then back to Amman.

The meeting with Ambassador Adaileh was also attended by Ali Issa, President of the Egyptian Automobile and Touring Club, along with prominent motorcycling figures from both Jordan and Egypt. Participants highlighted the role of motorcycle sports in enhancing bilateral ties in sports and recreation, as well as supporting tourism and cross-border travel.

Ambassador Adaileh emphasized the depth of Jordanian-Egyptian relations across various sectors, underscoring the importance of leveraging sports events to foster closer cooperation.

For his part, Issa noted the growing significance of sports as a form of soft power in strengthening people-to-people ties and called for continued initiatives that blend adventure tourism and cultural diplomacy.
