  31/ Yarmouk University, Canadian Embassy Discuss Expanding Academic Cooperation

Irbid, May 4 (Petra) – President of Yarmouk University, Islam Massad, met on Sunday with a delegation from the Canadian Embassy in Amman to explore avenues for enhancing academic collaboration between the two sides.

The Canadian delegation included Embassy Head of Cooperation, Simon Snoxell, Regional Coordinator Marie Chdid, and Nancy Momani, Director of the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) – Jordan Office.

Massad lauded the longstanding cooperation between Yarmouk University and the Canadian Embassy, citing the successful implementation of numerous scientific and research projects that have positively impacted education, sustainable development, and economic empowerment.

He highlighted the significance of the joint project, "Empowering Women and Youth to Safeguard Intangible Cultural Heritage," carried out by the university’s Refugees, Displaced Persons, and Forced Migration Studies Center in collaboration with the embassy and WUSC.

Snoxell reaffirmed the embassy’s commitment to strengthening its existing ties with Yarmouk University by fostering partnerships between Canadian universities and Yarmouk in various fields, contributing positively to both academic and research development.
