17/ 5-star hotel reservations during Eid at 34% in Amman-JHA

Amman, March 27 (Petra) - Demand for 5-star hotel reservations in the capital, Amman, reached 34%, while the rate for 4-star hotels stood at 35% during Eid al-Fitr holiday.

In remarks to "Petra" Thursday, Vice President of the Jordan Hotel Association (JHA), Hussein Hilalat, said the Kingdom's hotel sector witnessed a decline in occupancy rates during Eid al-Fitr in 2025 and the previous year, compared to 2023, which witnessed a "significant" surge.

Hilalat noted the years following 2023 recorded a "gradual" decline in most tourist destinations, attributing the decline primarily due to the repercussions of the regional situation, which has affected inbound tourism.

Under these circumstances, Hilalat stated "most" reservations rely on domestic tourism and visitors from the 1948 regions in Palestine, with a "clear" absence of foreign tourists.

Hilalat stressed the tourism sector's need for regional stability and "intensified" promotional efforts to restore Jordan's position as a "preferred" tourist destination in the region.

Demand for reservations at 5-star hotels at the Dead Sea reached 35% and 4-star hotels rate amounted for 27%, while in Petra, the percentage for 5-star and 4-star hotels reached 26% and 14%, respectively, he pointed out.
