19/ MoU signed to develop Jordan's entrepreneurship, business environment

Amman, Mar. 26 (Petra) - Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Jordanian Association for Entrepreneurship (JAE), aimed to strengthen cooperation, particularly in economic relations, targeting Jordanian business community.

The memo seeks to enhance joint cooperation to hold conferences, and forums that serve the two sides' members to advance their economic relations, and strengthen joint communication.

Under the MoU, both sides cooperate in encouraging and facilitating joint exchange of available expertise and information on development opportunities in Jordan's various economic sectors and establishing "strategic" partnerships that serve the Kingdom's business environment.

In a statement on Wednesday, JBA Director General, Tariq Hijazi, stressed the importance of strengthening relations with civil society institutions in the Jordanian private sector.

Hijazi noted JBA is "keen to continuously" network with various economic actors to serve the national economic interest, especially in the field of emerging entrepreneurship among Jordanian youth.

Hijazi noted the importance of promoting local entrepreneurship, which is a "key" component of the comprehensive reform process, accompanying the implementation of the Economic Modernization Vision.

Praising the entrepreneurship's "key" role in harnessing "promising" economic opportunities, he called for developing entrepreneurial and development projects, particularly in the artificial intelligence and digital transformation fields.

Hijazi said this effort aims to strengthen infrastructure, provide job opportunities for Jordanian youth, and increase "competitiveness" of economic sectors.

Meanwhile, JAE Head, Dr. Laith Qhaiwi, stated joint cooperation is a "strategic" step to enhancing the Kingdom's entrepreneurship and innovation environment.

Qhaiwi added that the partnership contributes to integrate "entrepreneurial" expertise and investment support, which supports the Royal directives in this field and enhances role of the private sector in the Jordanian business environment.

Qhaiwi called for empowering youth in entrepreneurship, particularly in emerging and medium-sized enterprises, due to their role in promoting economic growth, stimulating youth-based innovation and enhancing economic role of marketing and supporting the youth's "real" products.
