Amman, March 25 (Petra) -- The Mayor of Amman Yousef Shawarbeh met with Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom, Asari Hideki, on Tuesday to discuss enhancing collaboration and joint initiatives between their respective entities.

Shawarbeh outlined the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM's) plans and projects to improve its services. He stressed the importance of strengthening ties between Amman and Tokyo.

Ambassador Hideki praised the significant developments taking place in Amman, particularly in the fields of municipal services and culture.

He commended GAM for its efforts in developing infrastructure and improving the quality of services provided to the city and its residents.

Ambassador Hideki expressed the Japanese government's readiness to further enhance cooperation and share expertise for mutual benefit.

GAM, in collaboration with the Japanese government, has organised numerous cultural activities and events and community development projects.

The municipality has implemented several initiatives aimed at rehabilitating urban infrastructure, enhancing the city center and improving Amman's capacity to manage floods.
