Amman, March 25 (Petra) -- The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), in partnership with the Jordanian Embassy in London, organized a series of workshops in London and Cambridge to promote Jordan as a leading destination for educational tourism and Arabic language learning. Abdul Razzak Arabiyat, Director General of the Jordan Tourism Board, stated that the initiative is part of the board’s strategy to position Jordan as a top destination for students seeking to learn Arabic and engage with a rich cultural heritage. He emphasized that Jordan offers a unique environment for international students, combining high-quality education with immersive cultural experiences. "The workshops aimed to highlight the academic programs offered by Jordanian universities, as well as the cultural and tourism opportunities that enhance the educational experience for students," Arabiyat said. He also noted that the Tourism Board continues to build partnerships with academic institutions in the UK to attract international students. The events received positive feedback from representatives of universities and educational institutions, reflecting strong interest in Jordan's academic offerings. The workshops underscored the potential for students to benefit from an advanced educational environment while gaining exposure to Jordan's rich history and culture. Ambassador Manar Dabbas of the Jordanian Embassy in London further emphasized that Jordan views international students not just as visitors, but as part of the Jordanian community. He invited attendees to visit Jordan for a unique educational experience, highlighting the country’s role as a hub of knowledge and cultural heritage. "Jordan's historical sites, such as Mount Nebo, the Cave of the Seven Sleepers, Petra, and Jerash, provide a unique backdrop for students to explore the intersection of education, history, and culture," Ambassador Dabbas added. In addition to the workshops, a second Ramadan event was held at Wimbledon Stadium, where the Tourism Board distributed brochures promoting Jordan as an educational and cultural destination. The event aimed to strengthen Jordan’s presence in the British market and attract students to experience the country's academic and cultural offerings. //Petra// RZ
