  36/ US dollar drops below 3-week high against major currencies

Amman, March 24 (Petra) – The US dollar declined on Monday, falling below its three-week high against major currencies.

According to Bloomberg, the Dollar Index, which measures the performance of the US currency against a basket of six major currencies, stood at 104.03 points after reaching 104.22 points on Friday, its highest level since March 7.

The dollar rose 0.3% against the Japanese yen, reaching 149.77 yen, supported by a 2.5 basis point increase in the yield on 10-year US Treasury bonds to 4.2770%.

In other currency trading, the euro gained 0.24%, rising to $1.0836, up from its nearly three-week low of $1.0795 recorded on Friday.
