31/ Al Hussein Social Foundation hosts charitable iftar for children in Amman

Amman, March 24 (Petra) – The Al Hussein Social Foundation organized a charitable iftar on Monday in the Ashrafieh district as part of the Ministry of Social Development’s efforts to promote social solidarity.

Social Development Minister Wafa Bani Mustafa, who attended the event, said the foundation is the largest institution providing care for children, hosting 228 children from infancy up to 12 years old. It is the only institution in the country offering such services for this age group.

She noted that the iftar gatherings are a royal initiative from His Majesty King Abdullah II, benefiting more than 1,300 people in care centers. The initiative also included the distribution of Eid clothing for children, adding a festive touch to the occasion.

Bani Mustafa emphasized the ministry’s commitment to supporting such initiatives, which help create a nurturing environment for children and other beneficiaries. She praised the organizers for strengthening family and social ties within the institution.

She also highlighted the importance of new programs overseen by HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, which focus on child protection, life skills development, and post-care programs. She stressed the need to integrate beneficiaries into the local community from an early stage while ensuring their privacy and well-being.

Sanaa Al-Nuaimat, the foundation’s director, expressed gratitude to the ministry for its continued support, stating that the iftar reflected a spirit of generosity and reinforced a sense of belonging among the children. She noted that the foundation consists of three sections: "Qalb Al-Hussein," which cares for 106 infants under one year old; "Al-Baraem," which houses 33 children aged one to three years; and the final section, which accommodates 89 boys up to 10 years old and girls up to 12 years old.

During her visit, Bani Mustafa toured the facility, checking on the children’s well-being and the health, psychological, and social services provided to them.

Around 200 people attended the iftar in a warm Ramadan atmosphere, fostering bonds of unity and compassion. The evening concluded with a musical performance by the children, drawing enthusiastic participation from attendees and filling the event with joy and affection.
