6/ Pakistan Ambassador Describes Ties with Jordan as Strong, Fraternal

Amman, March 23 (Petra) -- Pakistan's Ambassador to Jordan and Palestine, Maj. Gen. (Retd) Muhammad Ajmal Iqbal, described the relations between the two countries as strong and fraternal.

Speaking to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on the occasion of Pakistan’s National Day, he emphasized that the relationship, built on shared faith, mutual respect, and a common vision for peace and prosperity, has stood the test of time. He noted that bilateral ties continue to grow through cooperation in defense, education, trade, and cultural exchanges.

The ambassador highlighted the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Jordan, reflected in close collaboration on security and defense, growing trade opportunities, and enhanced people-to-people exchanges. He added that both nations remain committed to regional stability and counterterrorism efforts, underscoring their shared vision for global peace and security.

He also expressed the embassy’s gratitude to the Jordanian government and people for their continuous support and enduring friendship. Pakistan, he noted, remains fully committed to strengthening its ties with Jordan while exploring new areas of cooperation, particularly in higher education, technology, and sustainable development.

As Pakistanis around the world celebrate Pakistan Day 2025 today, marking the 85th anniversary of the Lahore Resolution of March 23, 1940, the embassy in Amman honored the occasion with a flag-hoisting ceremony. The ambassador raised the national flag, and special messages from Pakistan’s leadership were read during the event.

"On this day, we reaffirm our commitment to the principles of unity, faith, and discipline, striving for a progressive and prosperous Pakistan while fostering even closer relations with our Jordanian brothers," the ambassador said.
