Amman, March 23 (Petra) -- The national U-23 Olympic football team has advanced to the final of the West Asian Championship, defeating Syria 1-0 in a semi-final match held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat on Saturday night.

Bakr Kalbouneh scored the decisive goal for the national team in the third minute, giving his team an early advantage that they maintained throughout the match.

The victory sets up a final showdown with Oman, scheduled for Tuesday evening.

This tournament serves as a crucial preparation phase for the Jordanian team as they gear up for the Asian qualifiers in early September.
