36/ Civil defense teams rescue camel that fell into 12-meter-deep pit in Al-Hasa

Amman, March 23 (Petra) – Desert Civil Defense teams made strenuous efforts after trekking two kilometers through rugged terrain in the Al-Hasa area to rescue and evacuate a camel that had fallen into a pit over 12 meters deep.

A Civil Defense media officer stated that upon receiving a report to the Desert Highway Civil Defense Operations Room about a camel falling into a pit in Al-Hasa (southern Jordan), rescue teams were dispatched to the location. Upon arrival, they discovered that a camel had fallen into a pit at the base of a slope. Due to the area's rough terrain, the rescue teams worked tirelessly, walking two kilometers on foot with their equipment until they reached the site. They then began the operation to free the camel using specialized tools for such incidents, successfully extracting it without injury.

The officer also reviewed other major incidents that the specialized teams responded to across the Kingdom during the weekend. In Amman, at the "Eighth Circle," a fire broke out in a ground-floor apartment of a four-story building. The fire resulted in eight injuries, one of whom suffered burns, while the others experienced difficulty breathing. First aid was administered, and the victims were transferred to the hospital, while firefighting teams managed to extinguish the flames and prevent the fire from spreading.

Additionally, eight individuals were treated for stomach pain after consuming improperly stored homemade food. Ambulance teams provided first aid and transported them to Princess Basma Public Hospital.

The Civil Defense officer urged citizens to safely use and regularly inspect household gas cylinders and advised drivers to exercise caution, especially during peak morning and evening hours.

He also emphasized the importance of reporting any accidents to the emergency hotline (911) if necessary.
