33/ JD90 million initiative will be managed through CBJ special account, says ABJ
Amman, March 23 (Petra) – The Association of Banks in Jordan (ABJ) announced that the recently launched initiative by major banks to allocate JD90 million to support the health and education sectors will be managed through a special account at the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) under its supervision and oversight. According to a statement released by the association on Sunday, a dedicated "ABJ Initiative – School and Health Center Construction" account will be opened at the CBJ. Funds will be directly deposited into this account by Jordanian banks, with the ABJ authorized to oversee financial transactions. As part of the first phase of the initiative, the government has identified 18 schools across the country, in various governorates, that are not included in the current year’s budget. These schools will be constructed under the initiative’s framework. //Petra// AF
