23/ Jordan plays 'key' role in serving Arab causes-Khasawneh
Amman, Mar. 23 (Petra) - Jordan, under His Majesty King Abdullah II's leadership, plays a "pivotal and important" role in ensuring the security and stability of the Middle East, harnessing its international position to serve Arab issues, mainly the Palestinian cause, First Deputy Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives, Dr. Mustafa Khasawneh, said. During his meeting on Sunday at the House with head and members of Nashama Youth Initiative, Khasawneh noted the King has "restored momentum" to the Palestinian cause by investing in his diplomatic relations with influential political players to end the region's conflict and establishing a Palestinian state on its national soil, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, with Jerusalem as its capital. Jordan's role in Gaza covered all political, diplomatic, and humanitarian aspects, as the Kingdom was "among the first countries" to provide medical and food aid to support Gaza people, Khasawneh pointed out. The lawmaker noted Jordan's achievements in youth empowerment and political participation reflect the Royal vision, which believes in youth's role in bringing about positive change, building Jordan's future, achieving sustainable development, and addressing national issues. Additionally, he referred to interest of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince in supporting youth, especially in entrepreneurship and innovation areas, and harnessing their energies for Jordan's construction and development. Khasawneh indicated that His Majesty the King's visit to the United States reflected the official and popular position in opposing Gazans' displacement, adding that "Jordan is for Jordanians and Palestine is for Palestinians." //Petra// AG
