London, March 22 (Petra) -- British Foreign Secretary David Lammy stated on Saturday that the renewed Israeli strikes on Gaza marks a regression in the situation, emphasising the urgent need for an immediate return to a ceasefire.

On X, Lammy wrote: The resumption of Israeli strikes on Gaza marks a dramatic step backward. Alongside France and Germany, the UK urgently calls for a return to the ceasefire."

The British minister further highlighted the importance of all parties re-engaging in negotiations to secure lasting peace and called for the release of all detainees.
