14/ Tunisian Ambassador Highlights Strong Ties with Jordan

Amman, March 20 (Petra) – Tunisian Ambassador to Jordan Mufida Zaribi underlined the importance of strengthening cooperation and solidarity to address shared regional and global challenges, as the world undergoes a historic turning point.

Speaking on Tunisia’s National Day, Zaribi highlighted the deep-rooted ties between Tunisia and Jordan under the leadership of President Kais Saied and His Majesty King Abdullah II, noting their role in fostering cooperation in security, politics, economy, and culture.

Zaribi, in remarks to "Petra," said both countries are "committed" to enhancing their bilateral relations, aiming to set an "example" of collaboration that serves their peoples' interests.

The diplomat also underscored the potential for expanding cooperation in "high-value" sectors and tourism, to boost mutual visitor exchange.

Zaribi pointed to shared security concerns, such as smuggling and illegal immigration, stressing the importance of security and military cooperation to counterthese threats.

On economic relations, she noted that 2024 saw a "balanced" increase in trade between Tunisia and Jordan, alongside growth in economic and cultural events.

Marking Tunisia’s 69th Independence Day, Zaribi reflected on the nation’s sacrifices in regaining sovereignty and advancing modernization and development despite ongoing challenges.
