9/ Jordan News Agency, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization Sign MoU to Enhance Media Cooperation
Amman, March 13 (Petra) – Under the patronage of Minister of Government Communication and Government Spokesperson Mohammad Momani, the Jordan News Agency (Petra) and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Thursday to strengthen cooperation and partnership in various fields. On behalf of Minister Momani, Secretary General of the Ministry of Government Communication Zaid Nawaiseh highlighted TAG-Org’s national role in supporting institutions, emphasizing that the MoU reflects the organization's ongoing commitment to national development. He noted that the agreement prioritizes training opportunities, particularly in digital media, in response to the growing need for advanced communication skills. He stressed that in today's media landscape, timeliness, speed, and accuracy are critical factors in shaping public opinion. Nawaiseh underscored Petra’s role as a leading national media institution committed to innovation and modernization, ensuring the agency remains at the forefront of media developments. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s appreciation for TAG-Org’s contributions at the local, regional, and global levels, expressing readiness to collaborate with national institutions to enhance the media sector. The MoU was signed by Petra’s Director General, Fairouz Mubaideen, and TAG-Org Chairman Talal Abu-Ghazaleh. The agreement aims to foster collaboration in media and training, facilitate access to educational opportunities provided by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University, and support professional development for both institutions. It also includes the exchange of resources, expertise, and specialized lecturers, as well as cooperation in news services and access to TAG-Org’s digital infrastructure. Additionally, the partnership seeks to preserve Petra’s media heritage by archiving historical images and materials, with plans to establish a dedicated exhibition space at Petra’s headquarters for permanent display. Abu-Ghazaleh emphasized the crucial role of Jordanian media, particularly Petra, in advocating for national interests, showcasing achievements, and addressing challenges. He highlighted the organization's strong focus on media, given its critical influence on economic and social development, both in Jordan and across its global network of over 100 offices. He reaffirmed TAG-Org’s commitment to supporting His Majesty King Abdullah II’s vision for private sector engagement in national development, including corporate social responsibility and safeguarding the country’s strategic interests. Abu-Ghazaleh also noted that TAG-Org continuously launches media initiatives aligned with technological advancements, operating a comprehensive media division that includes digital radio and television broadcasting, as well as three specialized news agencies covering intellectual property, technology, and education. //Petra// AJ
