21/ Potash extorts to UK market strengthens presence in Europe: APC
Amman, Mar. 13 (Petra) – Chairman of Arab Potash Company (APC), Shehadeh Abu Hdeib, and CEO, Dr. Maan Nsour, received the UK Ambassador to Amman, Philip Hall, at the company's headquarters. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the company's activities in the British market and ways to enhance and develop them in the future. Abu Hdeib said the APC has strengthened its position in the British market, thanks to a "well-thought-out" strategy focused on meeting needs of the European market. Abu Hdeib added that this effort has yielded "remarkable" success, especially after some potash suppliers stopped fulfilling Europe's needs due to geopolitical tensions in the Black Sea and sanctions imposed on Belarus, which created a gap in the market "quickly filled" by the company. Abu Hdeib added that the APC has established a trading and logistics company in Europe to strengthen its presence in the European market, in addition to leasing warehouses in the northwest of the continent. These steps, he noted, have enabled the company to serve the British market with "high efficiency" over the past period, with "full readiness" to better meet needs of this "promising" market in the future. For his part, Nsour emphasized that the company's entry into the British market represents a "strategic" step within its expansion plans, aimed at strengthening its global position. Nsour noted the British market represents a "significant" opportunity to increase the company's exports and enhance its global competitiveness. Nsour referred to the commercial relations related to the APC's exports and its subsidiary, particularly Numeira Mixed Salts & Mud Company to Britain. Nsour noted the "remarkable" growth of APC's exports in recent years after its products extracted from Dead Sea salts met with demand from consumers in the United Kingdom and globally. Nsour reviewed the APC's expansion projects over the past five years, which have contributed to increasing potash production and enhancing the company's competitiveness in global markets. Highlighting the company's future projects, he said this vision would increase potash production from 2.85 million tons annually to approximately 4 million tons over the next seven years. Additionally, he touched on the expansion projects of the Jordan Bromine Company, which would make this company the "largest" in the world in terms of manufacturing bromine and its derivatives. Meanwhile, the envoy praised the APC's efforts in expanding its global presence and strengthening economic relations between the two countries. The diplomat noted that the APC is a "distinguished" model of Jordanian industry that has achieved "global success," and its entry into the British market reflects extent of the development of the Jordanian industrial sector and its ability to compete in global markets. Hall expressed his hope for the establishment of more partnerships and investments that enhance economic integration between the two countries. The two sides went over ways to enhance APC's academic cooperation with UK relevant institutions, noting importance of exchanging expertise and knowledge in industrial and technological fields to serve common interests, according to an APC statement. //Petra// AG
