32/ Army Thwart Drug Smuggling Attempt from Syria Using Projectile
Amman, June 29 (Petra) – The Northern Military Zone officers foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotics across the border from Syria on Sunday, using a projectile loaded with the drug crystal meth. A military source from the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army said that Border Guard units detected the launch of the projectile from Syrian territory into Jordanian lands. After an intensive search and inspection operation, the projectile was recovered, containing approximately 500 grams of crystal meth. The seized narcotics were handed over to the competent authorities. The source stressed that the Jordan Armed Forces will continue to confront any threats along the kingdom’s borders with firmness and resolve and will not tolerate any attempts that aim to compromise national security. //Petra// AF
