29/ Jordan follows on developments regarding granting Jordanians in GCC countries transit visas
Amman, June 29 (Petra) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates is monitoring developments regarding the potential issuance of transit visas for Jordanians in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to facilitate their return to Jordan by land through Saudi Arabia during the summer vacation. Ministry spokesperson Sufian Qudah stated that the Ministry has engaged with Saudi authorities concerning the inquiries and requests received from Jordanian residents in the GCC countries. He confirmed that Saudi Arabia announced the commencement of visa issuance to Jordanians starting this morning, through electronic applications submitted via the designated Saudi electronic platform. Qudah thanked Saudi Arabia for its cooperation and swift response, which includes approving the requests of Jordanian citizens seeking transit visas. He explained that Saudi authorities will issue return visas allowing Jordanian residents to transit through Jordan to their respective GCC countries, by submitting electronic applications.
