20/ Yarmouk University, Azerbaijani envoy discuss academic cooperation
Irbid, June 29 (Petra) – Yarmouk University (YU) President Dr. Islam Massad affirmed the university's "readiness" to cooperate with Azerbaijan's various universities and educational institutions by exchanging students and faculty members. Massad said the YU Language Center is "ready" to receive students to learn Arabic by enrolling in the Arabic Program for Speakers of Other Languages ??(APSOL). Masad stated the university is keen to cooperate with the Azerbaijani embassy to build bridges of scientific and cultural cooperation with Azerbaijani universities in areas of common interest. Massad said this vision would mainly focus on technical education, aimed to link academic outputs with needs of the local, regional, and international labor markets. During a meeting with Azerbaijani Ambassador to Jordan Eldar Salimov on Sunday, Massad added that APSOL is a "distinguished" initiative at the international level, especially in teaching the Arabic language. Salimov, in turn, praised the "strong and solid" bilateral relations, which would form the basis for mutual academic, cultural, and economic cooperation. On its broader role, the diplomat noted the embassy's interest in strengthening cooperation between the two countries' higher education sectors by promoting student and faculty exchange programs across various colleges and academic streams. //Petra// AG
