41/ UN warns of life-threatening fuel shortage in Gaza
New York, June 25 (Petra) The United Nations warned on Wednesday that rapidly dwindling fuel supplies in Gaza are threatening efforts to sustain life-saving humanitarian operations in the besieged enclave. UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said Israeli authorities continue to restrict the entry of fuel into Gaza, effectively choking vital services for the deprived and hungry population. "For Gaza, fuel is a matter of life or death," Dujarric stressed, noting that this deprivation comes as Israeli bombardment continues to inflict devastating impacts on civilians. Many of the dozens killed or injured in recent attacks were reportedly seeking humanitarian assistance at the time. He called on Israeli authorities to urgently allow the entry of significantly larger quantities of aid supplies, including food, cooking gas, fuel, and shelter materials, to avert further deterioration of the humanitarian situation. //Petra// AF
