Amman, June 24 (Petra) – Three Israeli soldiers were killed and seven others injured, some critically, in an ambush in the Gaza Strip, according to Israeli public broadcaster Kan on Tuesday evening.

Israeli media reported that several soldiers were wounded and military vehicles caught fire during the attack.

The reports indicated that gunmen ambushed an Israeli military unit and then set a second ambush targeting a rescue force responding to the incident. Families of the soldiers involved in what was described as a "serious security incident" in Gaza have been notified.
