3/ Unlicensed Cosmetic Drugs Seized from Commercial Office in Amman

Amman, June 24 (Petra) -- A range of unlicensed and unauthorized medical and cosmetic products were seized from a commercial office in Amman during joint inspection efforts by the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) and the Royal Department for Environmental Protection.

The confiscated items included injectable materials and medical supplies used in cosmetic procedures, which were intended for clinics across the capital, according to a statement issued Monday evening by JFDA Director General Nizar Mhaidat.

The seized materials also included smuggled slimming injections, as well as unauthorized vitamins and dietary supplements. Many of the products were either counterfeit or of unknown origin and had not been approved by regulatory authorities.

Mhaidat emphasized that the operation is part of the agency’s broader efforts to monitor and control the circulation of medical and cosmetic products in the local market, particularly those posing potential risks to public health.

The JFDA confirmed that all items have been secured and that legal measures are being pursued against those responsible for the violations.

The agency reiterated its commitment to intensifying oversight of commercial establishments and healthcare providers to ensure that all products meet safety and quality standards.
