  14/ Minister, FAO Official Discuss Action on Environment, Food Security

Amman, June 4 (Petra) – Minister of Environment Muawiyah Radaideh met Wednesday with Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), to explore ways to strengthen cooperation in environmental protection, food security, and sustainable development.

The discussions focused on key environmental challenges facing Jordan, particularly water scarcity and the impacts of climate change. Both sides emphasized the need for collaborative initiatives and sustainable agricultural practices that conserve natural resources while bolstering food security.

Radaideh affirmed Jordan’s commitment to deepening its partnership with FAO as part of its broader environmental and developmental agenda, commending the organization’s continued support for national and global efforts.

Dongyu praised Jordan's initiatives in environmental preservation and sustainable development, reiterating FAO’s readiness to provide technical assistance and support capacity-building programs.

The two parties agreed to maintain close coordination on implementing joint projects aimed at advancing sustainability at both national and regional levels.
