37/ Company registrations in Jordan rise 13% in 1st 5 months of 2025
Amman, June 3 (Petra) – The number of newly registered companies in Jordan rose by 13 percent in the first five months of 2025, totaling 2,980 firms, up from 2,635 in the same period last year, according to data from the Companies Control Department obtained by the Jordan News Agency (Petra). The total registered capital during this period exceeded JOD 130 million. Limited liability companies (LLCs) accounted for the majority of new registrations, with 2,158 companies representing 72.4 percent of total new entities and more than JOD 48 million in registered capital. Meanwhile, company closures saw a sharp decline. Only 478 companies were dissolved or had their registrations revoked between January and May 2025, down 46 percent from 878 in the same period last year. Capital increases also surged significantly. The net rise in registered capital grew by 293 percent to approximately JOD 615 million. Some 750 companies raised their capital by nearly JOD 736 million, compared to 380 companies raising JOD 179 million in the same period in 2024. Conversely, 127 companies reduced their capital by a total of around JOD 121 million this year, compared to 103 companies that cut JOD 22 million in capital during the same months last year. //Petra// AF
