8/ Prime Minister Inaugurates Princess Iman Hospital Expansion, Launches Phase Two

Deir Alla, June 2 (Petra) -- Prime Minister Jafar Hassan on Monday inaugurated the new expansion of Princess Iman Governmental Hospital in Maadi, marking a major milestone in efforts to enhance healthcare services in the Deir Alla District.

The expansion includes a newly constructed 1,200-square-meter building housing outpatient clinics and a dialysis unit. Completed in just seven months following a four-year delay, the project progressed under the direct oversight of the Prime Minister, who prioritized its rapid completion to better serve the local population.

Princess Iman Hospital was the first stop in the Prime Minister’s field visits since the formation of his Cabinet. This marks his third visit to the site, following an earlier inspection conducted three months after his initial tour.

During a tour of the expanded facilities attended by Minister of Health Firas Hawari the Prime Minister underscored the importance of maintaining the hospital’s infrastructure and delivering high-quality medical services to patients and visitors.

He directed the immediate commencement of the hospital's second expansion phase, which will involve the renovation and rehabilitation of the old building, with completion anticipated next year.

To enhance patient accessibility, Hassan also ordered the provision of three vehicles to transport patients particularly the elderly and those with special needs from the main road to the hospital, a distance of approximately 300 meters.

The Prime Minister expressed appreciation to the Jordan Bromine Company for partially funding the expansion under its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

The hospital director briefed the Prime Minister on the new facilities, which include an echocardiography unit, audiology and screening clinic, and a breast cancer early detection clinic. The expansion also involved the deployment of additional medical personnel such as anesthesiologists, nephrologists, cardiologists, emergency physicians, orthopedic surgeons, nurses, and administrative staff to meet the increased demand.

Enhancements to the hospital also featured expanded waiting areas, additional parking, upgraded sanitary facilities, and new air conditioning systems.

The Follow-up and Implementation Unit at the Prime Ministry is actively monitoring the progress of projects directed by the Prime Minister during his field visits, coordinating with relevant government entities and submitting regular reports to ensure timely completion.
