27/ Al-Rai Newspaper marks 54th anniversary
Amman, June 2 (Petra) -- Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Momani sponsored the Jordanian Press Foundation's (Al-Rai) 54th anniversary celebration on Monday. Momani said while print journalism and its traditional ink hold profound significance, the future of media will increasingly be shaped by digital technology and its tools, adding that the government is committed to digital transformation. He said Al-Rai has taken tangible steps in this direction to stay abreast of technological advancements. He noted that other daily newspapers are making significant efforts toward digital innovation. Momani discussed supporting a new generation of journalists capable of producing digital content that aligns with evolving media trends, praising Al-Rai's initiatives to enhance its visual identity across digital platforms. He added that digital media has become a primary source of revenue for press outlets today. He added that the media landscape faces unprecedented challenges, placing venerable institutions like Al-Rai under a dual responsibility: to foster awareness, counter rumors and protect society through professional, balanced and truthful content rooted in national values. Momani reflected on Al-Rai's historical role, stating that since its inception, the newspaper has embodied the spirit of the modern Jordanian state. He added that Al-Rai has been a witness to major achievements, a record of modernisation and reform and a steadfast supporter of Jordan's positions and principles under the Hashemite leadership. On the sidelines of the celebration, Momani inaugurated Al-Rai's new Digital Production Centre, which includes specialised units for website management, social media platforms and video production, aimed at delivering digital content aligned with contemporary media standards. //Petra// AK
