Amman, July 29 (Petra) – German Ambassador to Jordan Bertram von Moltke stated, "His Majesty’s visit to Berlin has once again underlined the deep and lasting friendship between Jordan and Germany."

In an interview with the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Moltke said, "It is no coincidence that His Majesty is the first Arab leader hosted by Chancellor Merz since he took office in May."

He discussed Jordan's role as a "indispensable and trusted partner" for Germany amid the "catastrophic" situation in Gaza and recent events in the occupied West Bank.

He added, "Our decision to join Jordan in resuming an aid airlift to the suffering people of Gaza is proof of this partnership."

Moltke noted that Chancellor Merz and King Abdullah II agreed on the need for an immediate and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza, unimpeded access to humanitarian aid, and a negotiated political solution based on a two-state framework.

Both leaders also reaffirmed their firm stance against any forced displacement of Palestinians from occupied Gaza or the occupied West Bank.
