Amman, July 29 (Petra) – Director of Public Security Directorate (PSD), Maj. Gen. Dr. Obeidallah Maaytah, on Tuesday inaugurated the vehicle plate factory at the PSD's facilities in Muwaqqar district.

Talking at the opening ceremony, Maaytah noted this "vital" project comes within the framework of a "comprehensive strategic" vision aimed at increasing "efficiency" of local production of license plates.

The chief said the production process is based on the "highest" international technical and security specifications, which would enhance national manufacturing capabilities.

Maaytah stated the plant was established, in accordance with studies and requirements of the PSD's Vehicle Licensing Department and is based on the "highest quality" standards aimed to save time, and ensure import procedures.

This approach, he noted, reflects the PSD's "ongoing commitment" to developing its infrastructure and improving operational and production "efficiency."

Reliance on local manufacturing would contribute to reduce costs, save time and effort, enhance "quality" of the final product and invest in the skilled engineering and technical workers in the PSD's maintenance department.

Touring the factory, he was briefed on the progress of operational processes, production lines, and work mechanisms, praising workers' efforts and "efficiency" of the equipment used in the manufacturing stages.
