10/ Royal Court Chief Inspects Development, Employment Projects in Madaba
Madaba, July 29 (Petra) – Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Hassan Issawi, head of the Follow-Up Committee for the Implementation of His Majesty's Initiatives, on Tuesday conducted an inspection tour of several Royal Initiative projects in Madaba Governorate, aimed at enhancing public services, empowering local communities, and fostering sustainable development across the Kingdom. In Madaba city, Issawi was briefed on the progress of the project to rehabilitate the legal playground adjacent to Madaba Secondary School for Boys. Project officials confirmed that implementation is nearing completion and proceeding according to schedule. The initiative follows His Majesty King Abdullah II’s directives during a visit to the governorate on April 22 of last year, which included the full maintenance of the school and the adjacent playground. Maintenance of the school building was completed by the beginning of the 2024–2025 academic year. The playground has been fully upgraded with new fencing, renovated players' rooms, administrative offices, sanitary facilities, and entry gates, supporting students and the wider community, including youth centers, sports clubs, and activities in the governorate. In Faisaliah District, Issawi followed up on the implementation of a factory for medical supplies and clothing, established under the Productive Branches Initiative. The factory was launched in partnership with the Medical Solutions Company, under an agreement signed at the Royal Hashemite Court with the Ministry of Labor. Issawi toured the 2,500-square-meter facility, where construction and equipment installation have been completed. A group of local residents has already been trained to operate the factory, which is expected to provide 150 job opportunities in its first year. Radwan Khattab, the factory owner, detailed the production stages, capacity, and expansion plans during the visit. The project aims to strengthen the national medical manufacturing sector, reduce reliance on imports, and generate employment for youth from the local community. Currently, 70 individuals, 55 of whom are from the area, are undergoing training for future employment. The factory, the first of its kind in Jordan, includes 15 production lines and approximately 150 sewing machines. It will produce a range of medical consumables, including sterile aprons, head covers, gloves, sheets, bed covers, and sterile towels intended to replace cotton towels in surgical environments. Its capacity will serve both domestic needs and export markets. In press remarks, Issawi said the projects reflect His Majesty King Abdullah II’s vision of launching development, service, and production initiatives that improve citizens’ quality of life, create employment opportunities, and drive sustainable development in all governorates. He underlined that Royal Initiative projects are implemented under the direct guidance of His Majesty, in response to citizens’ demands voiced during His Majesty’s visits and meetings with dignitaries and local representatives, whether in the field or at the Royal Hashemite Court. Issawi also stressed the importance of continued on-the-ground follow-up on Royal Initiative projects in coordination with relevant ministries and institutions to ensure they are completed to the highest standards and within the designated timeframe. //Petra// AJ
