31/ Petra Unveils Strategic Plan for 2026–2028 to Government Partners
Amman, July 27 (Petra) – The Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Sunday presented its 2026–2028 strategic plan to representatives from government ministries and public institutions as part of efforts to strengthen collaborative partnerships in support of Jordan’s public media landscape. Secretary-General of the Ministry of Government Communication Zaid Nawaiseh underscored Petra’s credibility and balanced approach in delivering state-related news and content. He stressed the importance of continued coordination with communication departments across ministries and public institutions. Nawaiseh said Petra is undergoing a significant development process, starting with its new strategic vision for 2026–2028, along with planned upgrades to its website, to ensure the agency can keep pace with the rapid evolution of the media sector. He reaffirmed the ministry’s ongoing support for Petra to ensure the government’s narrative is delivered accurately and in a timely manner. Chairman of Petra’s Board of Directors, Nabil Ghaishan, said the agency had finalized its strategic plan and is now engaging key service recipients to collect feedback that could be integrated into the final version. The plan, he noted, is centered on key pillars, including stakeholder satisfaction and audience feedback, which are essential for enhancing content quality and delivery. Director-General of Petra, Fayrouz Mubaidin, expressed appreciation for the constructive engagement from government stakeholders, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to holding regular consultations to ensure accurate and relevant information reaches the public. She also praised the Ministry of Government Communication for its support and commended Petra’s team for its professionalism and dedication in delivering the plan on schedule. Head of the Institutional Development Department, Doaa Sarouji, presented the strategic plan’s core components to attendees. These included Petra’s mandate, organizational structure, business model, partner network, and key services, in addition to its resources and added value proposition. She also outlined a SWOT analysis, the agency’s contribution to national and strategic goals, the structure of its editorial and administrative departments, and its planned programs and projects. Attendees from various institutions praised the agency’s strategic direction and its alignment with developments in media technologies and practices.
