21/ Jordan, UAE Conduct New Airdrops of Aid to Gaza

Amman, July 27 (Petra) -- The Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army carried out three humanitarian airdrops over Gaza on Sunday, one of them with the United Arab Emirates, delivering food and humanitarian aid to several locations in the besieged Strip.

The aid drops were conducted using C130 aircraft from both the Royal Jordanian Air Force and the UAE Air Force, carrying a total of 25 tons of food and essential supplies.

These efforts are part of Jordan’s ongoing humanitarian campaign in cooperation with regional allies and international partners, coordinated by the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza and help them cope with the dire consequences of the ongoing war on the Strip.

The airdrops represent an additional channel for delivering urgent aid to inaccessible areas quickly, though Jordan emphasized that they are not a substitute for ground convoys, which remain the primary and more effective method for delivering aid to Gaza.

The Jordan Armed Forces continue to send aid convoys in coordination with the JHCO, the World Food Program, and the World Central Kitchen. Since the beginning of the war, Jordan has dispatched 181 land convoys comprising 7,932 trucks.

To date, the Jordanian military has conducted 127 independent airdrops and participated in 267 joint airdrops with other nations.

Meanwhile, Jordan’s field hospitals in northern and southern Gaza continue to provide medical, surgical, and humanitarian services. In addition, the Jordanian field hospital in Nablus and surgical stations in Jenin and Ramallah remain operational, offering specialized services across multiple clinics.

In Gaza alone, Jordan’s field hospitals have treated over 120,588 patients in the north and 362,389 in the south. Medical teams have performed more than 36,000 major and minor surgeries and fitted 532 upper and lower prosthetic limbs under the "Restoring Hope" initiative.

Additionally, 112 injured or ill children have been evacuated from Gaza to Jordan for treatment, accompanied by 241 family members, as part of the Medical Corridor Initiative launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II, which aims to treat 2,000 children from Gaza.
