16/ JIA, EU launch career day in Sahab; 70 direct jobs offeredd

Amman, July 27 (Petra) – Chairman of Jordan Investors Association (JIA), Mujahid Rajabi, said the association is continuing its field efforts to empower Jordanian youth to enter the labor market by activating "Employment, Training, and Transport" trilogy.

Rajabi noted this event aligns with the Economic Modernization Vision, which places employment and stimulating national industries as "a top priority."

Rajabi's remarks came during the opening ceremony of the JIA's career day held at its headquarters in Sahab district, in cooperation with the Danish Refugee Council.

The event, which is funded by the European Union, comes in strategic partnership with the National Employment Program of the Ministry of Labor.

Rajabi said the JIA's efforts don't seek to "solely hold a temporary event, but has a comprehensive vision aimed to connect youth with real job opportunities and provide an enabling environment to succeed and stabilize."

The career day, he stated, witnessed a "large" turnout of job seekers, as over 300 young men and women from various governorates participated.

Rajabi added that 16 factories, JIA members, offered more than 70 direct job opportunities in various sectors, including production, accounting, engineering, graphic design, and warehouse management.

According to the JIA statement on Sunday, Rajabi indicated that the association ensured that applicants registered on National Employment Platform to ensure "effective follow-up and sustainable connections between youth and employers."

Rajabi noted operation of a pilot transportroute between Zarqa and Sahab district, in coordination with the Land Transport Regulatory Commission, to facilitate workers' access to their workplaces.

Transportation, he said, is a "major" obstacle to regular work, adding that this pilot step seeks to prove feasibility of the model and expand it in the future.

Rajabi stated these integrated initiatives reflect the JIA's "commitment" to its national and economic role and its role as an effective partner in implementing the Kingdom's priorities within practical projects that directly impact local communities.
