  22/ 135,000  taxpayers joined national e-invoicing system so far-ISTD

Amman, July 9 (Petra) - A total 135,000 taxpayers have so far registered in the Jordan's National Electronic Invoicing System from various economic and professional sectors, including union members, Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD), Dr. Hussam Abu Ali, announced.

In a statement Wednesday, Abu Ali called on all legally obligated parties to commit to registering in the e-billing system and adhere to issuing proper invoices to avoid legal fines.

Abu Ali praised all companies, establishments, and individuals that registered in the system and committed to issuing "proper" bills through the system electronically.

To avoid fraud, he urged concerned software departments to ensure "full" compliance with the provisions of tax legislation and avoid providing any software that violates the system's terms or enable taxpayers to conceal any portion of the taxpayer's sales, under penalty of liability.

Abu Ali added that the ISTD has updated and listed the names of suppliers committed to the system on its website to enable companies, establishments, and individuals to verify that retailers already joined the system to purchase goods and services.

This procedure, he noted, was undertaken to enable these entities and and individuals to comply with the provisions of Law No. (2) of 2025 to ensure e-bills are issued in compliance with the system specifications.

Abu Ali indicated that these entities and and individuals can commit to dealing with suppliers who officially joined the system, through the link (https://istd.gov.jo/AR/Pages/Billing Sectors).
