30/ Yarmouk University, Iraq’s Anbar University explore academic cooperation
Irbid, July 8 (Petra) – President of Yarmouk University, Islam Massad, met Tuesday with a delegation from Iraq’s Anbar University to explore avenues for strengthening academic collaboration between the two institutions. Massad affirmed Yarmouk University's commitment to deepening academic, scientific, and cultural ties with Arab universities, emphasizing the importance of faculty exchange to enhance teaching quality and advance research across disciplines. He noted the university's ongoing efforts to modernize its academic programs and restructure curricula to align with the evolving demands of labor markets. Highlighting the university's broad offerings, Massad pointed to a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as Yarmouk’s rising presence in global academic rankings and its focus on increasing research output. Members of the visiting delegation commended Yarmouk University’s academic standing and reputation in the Arab world, stressing the importance of activating the memorandum of understanding between the two universities. They noted particular interest in enhancing collaboration in the humanities, especially Arabic language studies, education, Islamic studies, and Sharia. The two sides discussed joint initiatives in research, academic publishing, and the organization of specialized conferences and scientific symposia.
