Amman, July 8 (Petra) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Huneiti inspected on Tuesday the 11th Royal Border Guards Battalion, part of the 2nd Border Guards Brigade within the Northern Military Region.

During his visit to the battalion's command and control centre, Huneiti said efforts to enhance border security are ongoing, with units equipped with the latest technology to ensure optimal deployment amid current circumstances.

He said accomplishments reflect the directives and vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordanian Armed Forces.

Accompanied by senior Armed Forces officers, Huneiti reviewed briefings on operational and logistical readiness and the concerted efforts to safeguard Jordan's borders.

He observed a command and control exercise conducted by Border Guard personnel in cooperation with the Special Communications Authority, which showcased the use of advanced systems, including day and night cameras, radars and drones to monitor and secure the borders.

The Commander of the Northern Military Region affirmed that personnel are at the highest level of alertness and preparedness to counter infiltration and smuggling activities, working in coordination with relevant agencies to maintain border security.
