26/ NAF, Syrian delegation talk social service, assistance cooperation
Amman, July 8 (Petra) – Director General of National Aid Fund (NAF), Khitam Shenikat, on Tuesday received a Syrian delegation, headed by Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Hind Qabwat, at its headquarters. The visit aims to enhance joint cooperation and exchange expertise in the social protection field and emphasize the frameworks of bilateral cooperation. According to a NAF statement, Shenikat stressed the importance of exchanging regional expertise in the social protection area and benefiting from the fund’s expertise in cash transfers to the target groups. The delegation was briefed on the NAF's programs and aid disbursement mechanisms for the Kingdom's poorest families, as well as digital transformation mechanism in the fund's service and payment systems. During the meeting, the delegation also learned about the NAF's economic and social empowerment axis, which is a "key" program aimed at empowering beneficiary households to work and become productive. The visit also featured an overview of the operational system of the NAF's Geographic Mapping Center and Support and Assistance Center (call center). Qabwat, in turn, praised the NAF's "advanced" level of service delivery, expressing her country's desire to benefit from this experience to develop Syrian support and protection systems. //Petra// AG
