20/ FM, Armenian Counterpart Discuss Gaza Ceasefire, Ties
Amman, July 8 (Petra) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi on Tuesday received a phone call from Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, during which the two officials discussed bilateral relations and regional developments. The ministers affirmed their mutual commitment to enhancing cooperation between Jordan and Armenia across various fields. The discussion also focused on efforts to secure an immediate and lasting ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, with both ministers underscoring the urgency of ending the humanitarian crisis there and ensuring the swift delivery of sufficient humanitarian assistance. Safadi and Mirzoyan reviewed the escalating situation in the West Bank, where Safadi stressed the necessity for Israel to cease all illegal measures that jeopardize the two-state solution and fuel further instability and conflict. He also highlighted the importance of collective action to compel Israel to respect the historical and legal status quo at the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
