16/ Youth Minister Unveils Amman Arab Youth Capital Plans, Peace, Security Strategy

Amman, July 7 (Petra) -- Minister of Youth Yazan Shdeifat on Monday said that the selection of Amman as the Arab Youth Capital for 2025 reflects recognition of Jordan’s leading role in youth empowerment and constitutes a national opportunity to strengthen the presence of Jordanian youth in the Arab arena through innovative programs and participatory activities showcasing the Kingdom’s cultural and human heritage.

Speaking at a press conference held at Al Hussein Youth City, Shdeifat outlined the launch of the executive plan for the Arab Strategy for Youth, Peace, and Security, alongside the unveiling of the slogan and planned activities under the banner "Amman, Capital of Arab Youth."

He noted that the Ministry, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers and ministries of youth and sports across Arab states, is implementing an ambitious action plan to operationalize the Arab Strategy for Youth, Peace, and Security, initially launched last year.

Shdeifat highlighted the ongoing Al Hussein Work and Construction Camps, which commenced recently with significant youth participation. He described these camps as a cornerstone national program aimed at shaping the Jordanian character and instilling values of teamwork and national belonging, pointing to the qualitative improvements introduced in this year’s programs.

He also emphasized the importance of the "Al Hussein bin Abdullah II Award for Volunteer Work," which has evolved into a national platform for recognizing youth initiatives that generate sustainable impact and for promoting a culture of volunteerism and active citizenship within Jordanian society.

Shdeifat underlined that these initiatives reflect the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to empower youth and strengthen their engagement in national development. He underlined that the Ministry remains committed to fostering local and international partnerships to ensure the sustainability and tangible impact of its programs.
