31/ Foreign minister, Arab Parliament speaker talk region

Amman, July 6 (Petra) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Yamahi and an accompanying delegation held talks on Sunday on pan-Arab action and regional developments.

Safadi and Yamahi discussed activating areas of cooperation among Arab countries, deepening coordination to address common challenges and advancing Arab issues and interests.

They agreed that such efforts will bolster regional security, stability and sustainable development aligned with the aspirations of the Arab peoples.

Safadi reaffirmed the Kingdom's support for the Arab Parliament's efforts and role in advocating for Arab causes. He commended the Parliament's defence of Arab interests, especially the Palistinian cause.

Safadi called for an end to Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, urging the international community to end the humanitarian crisis and achieve a permanent, comprehensive ceasefire through Egyptian, Qatari and American efforts, with support from Jordan.

He condemned the ongoing Israeli violations in the occupied West Bank as undermining the two-state solution and threaten prospects for peace.

Safadi called for supporting the Syrian government's efforts to rebuild Syria on foundations that ensure its security, stability, sovereignty and the rights of its people, as well as restoring Syria's role in Arab joint action.

Safadi and Yamahi stressed the significance of unified Arab action to resolve regional crises and enhance cooperation across various fields.

Yamahi praised Jordan’s leadership and His Majesty King Abdullah II’s efforts in strengthening Arab solidarity and advancing Arab causes and interests.
