Amman, July 5 (Petra) – A blood donation campaign was launched on Saturday at the Specialty Hospital under the slogan "We Sacrifice Our Blood for You," in support of the people of Gaza.

Fawzi Hammouri, president of the Private Hospitals Association and director general of the Specialty Hospital, said the humanitarian and national initiative reflects Jordan’s unwavering stance, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in supporting the Palestinian cause and easing the suffering of the people of Gaza. "In light of the suffocating siege and acute shortage of blood units, donating today is more than a duty it is a lifeline," he said.

The campaign was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Health’s Blood Bank Directorate and the Royal Medical Services, with the goal of collecting as many blood units as possible to address the severe shortage in Gaza. The blockade and resulting malnutrition have made it nearly impossible to find eligible donors within the enclave.

Hammouri praised the participation of Jordanians in the initiative and their consistent generosity in times of humanitarian need. He affirmed that the hospital doors remain open to anyone wishing to take part in this noble humanitarian effort.
