20/ Prince El Hassan Calls for Unified Effort to Aid Gaza at Relief Conference

Amman, January 23 (Petra) – His Royal Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal patronized the launch of the "Health Sector Relief in Gaza" conference on Thursday.

The conference, organized by the Jordan Medical Association, brought together local and international figures, as well as representatives from charitable and health organizations.

In his address at the opening ceremony, Prince El Hassan called upon relief and reconstruction actors in Gaza to unify their discourse when engaging with donors. He emphasized that "human dignity" should be the central message conveyed to potential benefactors.

Prince El Hassan stressed the importance of "humanizing" the appeal to major donors. He argued that investing in human capital fosters long-term partnerships, while temporary financial aid can inadvertently create dependency. He emphasized that the coming weeks and months present a crucial opportunity for impactful action through concerted cooperation and integration among all stakeholders.

Prince El Hassan further emphasized the need for a unified vision and a collective commitment to supporting Gaza. He highlighted that the humanitarian sector, where hope emerges from suffering, deserves prioritized investment.

He stressed that the relief plan for Gaza must extend beyond physical reconstruction to encompass emotional and psychological support. He emphasized that the perspective on Gaza should not be solely material but primarily humanitarian.

Prince El Hassan called for enhanced collaboration between health institutions and international organizations, while also advocating for an integrated approach that connects the health, education, and living standards sectors.

The two-day conference will bring together 80 institutions from 24 Arab and foreign countries. The primary objective is to endorse health projects for Gaza and allocate the proceeds towards rehabilitating and developing the health system within the sector.
