Gaza, Jan. 21 (Petra) – The Mayor of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza, Alaa Attar, said that 95% of Palestinian homes in Beit Lahia have been destroyed and rendered uninhabitable, leaving 100,000 residents homeless and turning the area into a complete disaster zone.

In a statement on Tuesday, Attar noted that 80% of the water wells have been entirely destroyed, while the healthcare sector has suffered extensive damage, including the targeting of Kamal Adwan Hospital, the burning of the Indonesian Hospital, and the destruction of 23 vehicles belonging to the health sector.

He also highlighted the severe food insecurity caused by the destruction of farmland, in addition to the demolition of several heavy machinery units and all buildings associated with the Beit Lahia Municipality.
